Qur’an: The Immense Ocean (QTIO) is an ad-hoc under NUSMS that serves as a platform for people to connect and form a better relationship with the Qur’an, one of the main sources of guidance for mankind and making the Qur’an the basis of our actions in our daily lives. Ultimately, QTIO aims to build a community with love for the Qur’an, thereby bringing us closer to Allah s.w.t. and our Beloved s.a.w.


The theme for QTIO AY22/23 was "Journeying with our Companion", which aims to make the Quran our lifetime companion.

DIVING INTO THE BEAUTY OF QURAN



A series of talks, surrounding the theme "Diving into the Beauty of Quran", were held in Semester 1, in hopes to strengthen our relationship with the Quran. ARS-certified and experienced asatizahs were invited to these talks, where they share the proper etiquettes of learning the Quran, Tajwid, melodies for daily recitation, as well as the significance of Al-Fatihah.



"BUILDING THE ARK" CAMP



After 'Diving into the Beauty of The Qur'an' in Semester 1, QTIO proudly presents our theme this semester -- 'Anchoring Qur'an in Our Life'. In our continued efforts to make Qur'an our companion, this semester will explore stories from the Qur'an on our 5 Ulul Azmi prophets. Each of whom we are able to extract timeless life lessons and gain deep connection to the words of Allah s.w.t.


The 2D1N overnight camp at Masjid Al-Falah explores stories from the Qur'an on one of our 5 Ulul Azmi prophets - Prophet Nuh a.s., as well as stories of a local pious predecessor who shares the same name - Habib Nuh Al-Habsyi - and how we can emulate him.

A total of 3 sessions were during the Synopsis, the blessed days of Ramadhan, the holy month when the noble verses of the Quran were first revealed to Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. Mass recitations of Juz 29 and 30 were held online and participants were also given the opportunity to complete their intended Juz with their friends.

In the blessed month of Ramadhan, we hope to share simple content in relation to our theme; Anchoring Qur'an in Our Life. As we all learn more about our 5 Ulul Azmi Prophets and the stories mentioned in the Qur'an, we hope that we can relate to the morals and lessons behind their struggles and perseverance.
