EMPOWER WITH PBMUKS

eMpower is a series of talks jointly organised by NUSMS and PBMUKS to empower NUS Malay and Muslim undergraduates in taking charge of their future. Topics such as Managing Anxieties in Navigating Adulthood, Managing Responsibilities and Managing Finances were touched upon. Through this series, we aimed to empower undergraduates with the skills and knowledge as they enter life post-graduation. To complement the series, an “Adulting Toolkit” was provided as well.

FAITH PERSPECTIVES WITH VCF

Between 12 and 14 Apr 2022, NUS Varsity Christian Fellowship and NUS Muslim Society organised a joint exhibition exploring ways in which members of the two faiths reconcile and wrestle with the doubts, pain and questions that arise when thinking the pain and suffering in this world.

The exhibition sought to respectfully present perspectives from the different faith groups on "Why Pain and Suffering" and humbly suggest a few answers to the question "Is there hope?". The exhibition hoped to present some ways people of the two faiths wrestle with the topic and value-add to the NUS campus community by offering these perspectives.

WELFARE PACK WITH PBMUKS

The Welfare Pack initiative is an annual collaboration between NUSMS and PBMUKS that seeks to provide welfare packs at the end of the semester to motivate and support Malay/Muslim NUS students for their upcoming exams. These welfare packs are also given to the NUS staff to show appreciation for their contributions to the school.

SAVE THE DATE: IFTAR + TERAWIH
WITH PBMUKS

The Save the Date: Iftar + Terawih Event was an event for the NUS Muslim community to gather to have iftar and perform terawih prayers together amidst their preparation for exams. The event was executed on the second week of Ramadhan.

The community gathered for the first time since COVID-19 struck us, bringing much warmth and joy to the occasion. We were excited to welcome everyone back and hope to organise such events in future!

FRESHMAN ORIENTATION CAMP
(ARCADIA 2022) WITH PBMUKS

Arcadia is a Freshmen Orientation Camp formed under the collaboration of both NUS Muslim Society and NUS Malay Language Society. It spanned over 3 days - one day online, two days physical. The purpose of the camp is to guide freshmen as they embark on their journey in NUS. Through online games and activities, the camp aimed to orientate the freshmen on the resources available in NUS and to also foster friendships amongst them!

OUR EVENTS

Based on the annual calendar of events, the NUSMS Executive Committee comes up with activities and events that cater to the Muslim population within and outside of NUS.
