NUS Muslim Society's Executive Committee hosts several events throughout their term. These events are collaborations with other organizations and societies. ​


In the 60th ExCo's term in AY22/23, several events were carried out:

  1. Welfare Pack with PBMUKS
  2. Back2Basics with other tertiary Muslim Societies

Several other events carried out by 59th ExCo's term in AY22/23 are as follows:

WELFARE PACK WITH PBMUKS



The Welfare Pack initiative is an annual collaboration between NUSMS and PBMUKS that seeks to provide welfare packs at the end of the semester to motivate and support Malay/Muslim NUS students for their upcoming exams. These welfare packs are also given to the NUS staff to show appreciation for their contributions to the school. ​



BACK2BASICS WITH OTHER TERTIARY MS



Back2Basics is a monthly event in collaboration with other tertiary Muslim Societies. Every month, Ustaz Mukhtar will bring the participants through the book titled "Faith and the Essentials of Islam" (Al-Risalah Al-Jamiyah), which touches on topics such as the foundation of Islam and the purification the heart.



EMPOWER WITH PBMUKS



eMpower 2024 is a series of talks jointly organised by NUSMS and PBMUKS to empower NUS Malay and Muslim undergraduates in taking charge of their future, by equipping Malay Muslim undergraduates with holistic skills for the working world knowledge for the future. This is also a good platform for the NUS Malay and Muslim undergraduates to network with professionals in respective fields.


This year's theme was "Career Voyage, Navigate, Network and Nurture". The three events that were held were:

  1. Finance, Family and Homeownership
  2. Career Chronicles (careers include: education, start ups, media, real estate, technology and finance)
  3. Beyond Careers: A Journey to Meaningful Living with 4PM

Through this series, we aimed to empower undergraduates with the skills and knowledge as they enter life post-graduation. To complement the series, an toolkit summarising the topics covered during this series is available below.


Empower Toolkit

HAVE FAITH WITH NUS SIKH SOCIETY



The Have Faith initiative was a collaboration with the NUS Sikh Society as part of our Ihsan series. The objective of this initiative was to foster understanding and appreciation of the two faith groups. In this initiative, we had both communities ask questions they had regarding each society on the ‘question sticker’ posted on the Instagram story. The questions were collated and given to both societies so that they could answer the questions. This initiative has allowed for better clarification on the doubts the communities had on both religious groups.



FRESHMAN ORIENTATION CAMP
(ENIGMA 2023) WITH PBMUKS



Enigma 2023 is a Freshmen Orientation Camp formed under the collaboration of both NUS Muslim Society and NUS Malay Language Society. The purpose of the 3D2N overnight camp is to guide freshmen as they embark on their journey in NUS. Through physical games and activities, the camp aimed to orientate the freshmen on the resources available in NUS and to also foster friendships amongst them!
